Grey’s Project: Office Reveal

High-end design, moody hues, and achieving organized functionality.

Home type: Single family home
Location: Houston, Texas
Stash of Panache services: Full service design

Grey’s Project, whose name is inspired by its gray, black, and blue moody hues, is a custom-built home in the Houston, Texas area. My client had stately built-in bookshelves and gorgeous pieces of furniture and accent pieces. Our challenge was to compliment her existing pieces to bring an upscale feel to the room.

Full Service Design process

Step 1: My client shared her wants and needs for the office during an in-person consultation at her home.

Step 2: We finalized the design using design mock-ups on an inspiration board.

Step 3: I styled the office in-person using products that I purchased and products that my client purchased using an online shopping list.

Complimenting a stunning desk

My client’s black oak desk with brass accents was simply stunning to say the least! I made it the focal point of the room by keeping it simple with simple gray, white, and marble accents

Styling the built-ins

The black, built-in bookshelves flank the desk and provided a blank canvas for adding personality and style to the room. I decked the shelves with upscale accent pieces and personal items.

Artwork

In this office we used gray, black, blue, and off-white tones. When I’m working with a mix of colors, I like to tie the room together with a large piece of art that has all of the colors in the room. When I saw this painted floral piece, I shared it with my client and knew we had to have it for the office!

It was a true pleasure to work on the design and styling for the office at Grey’s Project! I’ve got the good-kind-of blues for its moody hues, built-in bookshelves, and high-end furniture!
